The cost of home interior designs in India will vary based on a number of factors. Here is a comprehensive breakdown:
City-wise costing: Interior design costs change a whole lot based on location in India. Tier-1 cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai tend to be more expensive, while tier-2 cities like Pune and Kochi are more affordable. Small towns offer the lowest prices but may have limited material options.
Materials: Your choice of materials greatly impacts the costing too! Basic options like pre-laminated particle board cost much less than premium choices such as marine plywood with PU or acrylic finishing.
Design Themes: Simple minimal designs typically cost much less than ornate traditional styles. Modern themes are usually budget-friendly while detailed Indian classical designs require expert craftsmanship and are usually made of solid wood, dialling up the costs quite a bit.
Size and Scope: How big is your home, and what is the scope of work you plan to do? Is it just a basic fitout, or will you be wanting the whole works: painting, wallpaper, ceilings, furniture and furnishings? A partial update will cost much less than doing up the whole home.
Accessories and hardware: What are the storage accessories you need, and which brand of hardware will you choose? Important brands like Hettich and Hafele will increase costs, while local brands like Ebco will keep your budget within limits.
For an instant estimate of costs, our Cost Calculator comes in very handy. Just key in the specifics and you’ll get a budgetary costing to help you plan your house interior design.
There’s nothing that quite matches up to the feeling of walking into your dream home, perfect in every aspect. At HomeLane, we’re here to make sure this happens on time!
At HomeLane, a standard home interior project gets done in 45 days or less, from the time you sign off on the design till the time you step into your beautiful new home interior. Here’s how everything will play out:
After you approve your design, we get right to work ordering materials and planning each step. Our project management team takes over and keeps in touch with the interior designers for anything they may need. They will coordinate between vendors and suppliers, make sure that workers turn up on time, and start the manufacture in the factory. At regular intervals, quality checks will be carried out to make sure that our strict benchmarks are achieved.
During the last week comes the exciting part—the installation in your home! Different teams come as needed, including carpenters, electricians, plumbers, and painters—each doing their part to transform your space. Our project manager keeps everything moving smoothly and makes sure you’re updated as well.
Every home is different, of course. Larger homes or more detailed designs might need a bit more time, but we'll always be upfront about what to expect. You will know about revised schedules at the very beginning, not at the last minute.
At HomeLane, we do all we can to stay on top of these latest interior design trends. We’ll help you create a home interior that is not just drop-dead gorgeous, but is meaningful, deeply personal, and makes you happy.
Here’s the lowdown on the most popular house interior design ideas today!
Eco-friendly chic: Sustainability has become more than a trend—it's a lifestyle, and a much-loved one! Homeowners are increasingly choosing materials that are environmentally friendly, recycled, or locally sourced. Reclaimed wood, bamboo blinds, and furniture made from sustainable materials like rattan are taking centre stage. Look for solar lighting and low-flow water faucets that reduce our harmful impact on natural resources.
Biophilic design: Biophilic design celebrates that all-important connect between humans and nature! Living walls, abundant indoor plants, natural textures, and water bodies inside homes are making all the difference to today’s house interior design. Large windows, indoor gardens, and design elements that blur the line between indoor and outdoor spaces are popular.
Warm colour palettes: After years of boring clinical whites and minimalist greys, warmer and more nurturing colour schemes are emerging from the sidelines! Earthy tones like terracotta, sage green, and warm browns are replacing cooler neutrals. Jewel tones and metallic accents are trending, too. These colours create a sense of comfort and connection, reflecting our need for warmth in our living spaces.
Maximalist interiors: Move over minimalism, maximalist homes are here! With personal, expressive design that uses bold colours and in-your-face patterns, maximal design is all that minimalism isn’t. Funky hues, mixed patterns, and curated collections that tell your story are what this latest interior design style is all about. People are moving away from generic designs and creating spaces that truly reflect their personality, travels, and experiences.
Smart homes: Technology is being seamlessly integrated into today’s house interior design ideas. Smart lighting, automated window treatments, voice-controlled systems, and hidden charging stations are becoming standard. The idea is to use technology that enhances comfort and convenience without disrupting the look and feel of your space.
Vintage and crafted elements: There's a lot of love for handcrafted, unique pieces. Vintage furniture, artisanal crafts, and items with deep personal significance are on top of must-have lists. This trend rejects mass-produced, disposable design, looking for elements that hold special meaning.
Wellness-centric design: The world around us is full of stress, and your home should be the opposite of that! Spaces that promote relaxation, meditation, fitness, and mental health are considered all-important. This includes dedicated wellness areas, clean air systems, ergonomic furniture, and designs that include yoga corners and indoor gardens.
The perfect interior design style for your home is, simply stated, what speaks to your heart! Your home should make you happy, and should be filled with things that hold special meaning for you.
Forget the trends for a moment. What brings you joy? Think for a bit—what are your most loved memories, and the colours of your dreams? What makes you take a step back, pause and live in the moment? Is it pottering around in your balcony garden? Do you feel most at peace when you’re cooking for your loved ones, creating dishes that are filled with love?
Look around and take stock. What hues and patterns energise you or calm you down? What are the textures you love? Do you find inspiration in nature, art, or travel? Your style isn’t confined to a label—it’s a collection of elements that feel like home to you. You don’t need to follow a particular theme down to the last letter. Mix styles, if that’s what feels right to you!
Maybe you love the elegance of a Chesterfield couch, but also the playfulness of a hand-crafted patchwork quilt. Perhaps a Nordic home interior design theme that's all shades of white makes your heart sing. It could be that you breathe easier in a space that's a nod to the past, with ornate furniture and delicate paisley wallpaper. When it comes to your house interior design, just throw that rulebook out the window.
Most importantly, allow your home to tell your story to the world. Fill it with things that spark happiness—photographs of places you love, perhaps, or books that inspire you. That’s the perfect design style—one that makes your heart quietly happy.
And this is just what we aspire to give you at HomeLane. We’ll create spaces that truly reflect who you are. Our residential interior designers are different from the rest in that they take the effort to listen to your dreams. They take care to put together spaces and designs that are not only beautiful and practical, but are deeply personal.
And that’s what makes a HomeLane home so special! We’ll go the extra mile to make your home unique and truly special. Because you’re worth it.
Here’s a breakdown of the most durable and stylish home interior design materials.
Furniture and cabinet materials:
Solid wood: The timeless beauty of solid wood furniture can never be matched, but in today’s world it is becoming less popular due to the high cost. Unlike engineered woods, solid wood can be sanded and refinished multiple times, lasting for generations to come! Teak wood, rose wood, white cedar, mahogany, sheesham wood and rubberwood are popular options.
Marine plywood: Highly durable, marine plywood when used for the core of your furniture makes it sturdy and last long. It cannot be used on its own and must be finished with laminates, acrylic or other finishing materials. More expensive than standard plywood, it offers superior longevity and is ideal for bathrooms, kitchens and other rooms where high humidity is a concern.
HDHMR (High-Density High Moisture Resistant Board): With all the durability and strength of marine ply, HDHMR is more economical and acts as a sturdy substrate for laminates and veneers. In fact, it offers even better moisture resistance than marine ply, so is a great option for bathrooms where constant water spills are a given.
MDF (Medium Density Fibreboard): MDF is susceptible to moisture damage but is durable when all edges are completely sealed. It takes paint extremely well and can be routed into panels and grooves, making it a lovely choice for many different interior applications. In the kitchen, it can be used in upper cabinets and pantry areas, but is not recommended just around the sink or stove.
Particle-board: The most economical option among all engineered wood types, particle board is crafted from compressed wood particles and resin. While it's the most budget-friendly option, it's also the least durable one, being highly susceptible to water damage and swelling. When edge-sealed completely, the durability is as good as MDF. It’s best used in dry areas like shelving in guest rooms or upper cabinetry.
Finishing materials:
Laminates: The most popular choice for finishing surfaces, laminates are available in the widest range of colours, patterns, and textures. You can even get them in stone and wood finishes. They are very practical for areas that get a lot of use, such as countertops, cabinets, and tabletops. Watch out for quality, as it varies a great deal between cheap laminate brands and those of premium make!
Membrane (PVC/Vinyl): Membrane foil creates a seamless finish that wraps around the entire panel, making it moisture-resistant and ideal for cabinet doors with contouring or panels. It is heat-pressed and becomes perfectly sealed on all edges, the seamless nature meaning there are no edge banding issues. It is available in matte, gloss, and textured finishes. Here, too, the quality varies a lot—high-quality membranes resist peeling even in humid conditions, while lower-quality ones may bubble or peel over time.
Acrylic: Acrylic offers a high-gloss, reflective finish with vibrant colours that is just perfect for modern, contemporary spaces. Although it is scratch-resistant, acrylic can chip at the edges and shows fingerprints more readily than other finishes—which means it needs frequent wiping. It creates a luxe, sleek appearance for kitchen cabinet fronts and bathroom vanities. Premium brands of acrylic offer UV resistance to prevent yellowing over time.
Glass: Often used with slender aluminium frames in kitchen shutters, glass creates visual lightness and reflectivity that can make compact spaces appear larger. Choose from clear, frosted, tinted, or textured varieties, or even stained glass look-alike panels. Glass lends modern elegance to interiors but requires regular cleaning to keep up its sparkle and shine.
Your HomeLane designer will help you pick the most suitable materials for your house interior design; choices that suit your style and fall within your budget.
Imagine coming home and having your house just get what you want. That's the magic of smart home technology!
Smart lighting can transform your mood with just a click on your phone, creating the perfect atmosphere. How about having lights that adjust themselves, an AC that knows exactly how cool you like things to be, and a security system that keeps an eye on everything while you're out!
Your phone becomes a magic wand—it allows you to control your music, check who's at the door, or preheat the oven on your way home. Advanced security systems now let you see and talk to visitors even when you're miles away, giving you peace of mind wherever you are.
Smart fridges can tell you what groceries you need, tracking your inventory and even suggesting recipes based on what's inside. Home assistants like Alexa can play your favourite playlist, set reminders, or even order pizza—all with a quick voice command. Your robot vacuum cleaner can turn on by itself, keeping your home spick and span without your even having to lift a finger!
Loved all these ideas? And with all the advancements that are happening in AI these days, who knows when your home might become truly intelligent! The line between technology and intuition is blurring by the day, promising homes that are not just smart, but truly understanding.
If you’d like smart home integration in your interior design, just let your HomeLane designer know. We’ll make your home as smart as you!

The modular kitchen that best suits your home is one that is practical, functional, and meets your sense of style. It should fit within your budget and be the perfect fit for the space in your home.
Start with the layout. This will mostly be determined by the space available in your home, but you could consider knocking out walls if you want an open-plan kitchen, or adding an island if space permits. Some homes work better with an L-shaped layout, while others might need a straight galley kitchen or a U-shape if you have more room.
Think about how you use your kitchen from day to day. Are you someone who loves to cook elaborate meals, or do you mainly heat up takeaway? If you're always cooking, you'll want plenty of counter space and storage for all your gadgets and ingredients. If cooking isn't really your thing, you might prefer something simpler that's easy to keep clean.
Your personal style matters too! You must have seen hundreds of kitchens in catalogues, homes of friends, or magazines. What is it that made you stop and go ‘wow’? Was it a sleek, minimalist space with clean lines and hidden storage? Or perhaps it was a warm, rustic kitchen with wooden elements and open shelving displaying lovely crockery? The ‘wow’ factor is what defines your style.
Think about practical things too—like choosing the right materials that match how much cleaning you're willing to do! Some lovely finishes show up every fingerprint, which isn't ideal if you have young children around. Pick materials that are durable, fall within your price limits, and match your chosen décor.
Choose appliances that make your work easier. Microwaves, OTGs and dishwashers are absolutely a must-have. Tuck away smaller appliances like mixer-grinders, coffee percolators and so on behind a sleek appliance garage. Make sure to buy the tools you always wanted, whether it’s a roti maker or a cold-press juicer, and find a place to store it off the counter.
Last, pick the right accessories. Ask your designer to show you Magic Corners, carousel units and pull-out pantry solutions. Look at tandem drawers with built-in organisers, and cutlery trays to keep spoons and ladles in their place. A peg board on the wall above the sink can make a world of difference, while garbage units below the sink can make waste disposal a breeze.
Finally, don’t forget the finishing touches that bring your kitchen to life! Thoughtful lighting—like under-cabinet LEDs for task areas or stylish pendant lights over an island—can transform your space. A well-ventilated kitchen is essential too, so plan to add a powerful chimney and exhaust fan to keep the air fresh and grease-free. Love a bit of greenery? An herb garden in little pots by the window is a lovely add.
Confused about how to begin? Our expert residential interior designers at HomeLane are ready to step in!
Your living room is the heart of your home—a space where comfort meets style. As the first space that your guests will see, it must set the tone for the rest of your house interior design.
Start with colours that make you feel good, whether that's soft neutrals or richer, deeper tones. If your room is small, always opt for low-key shades that will not overwhelm the space. Hate shades of white? Add pops of colour in the form of an accent wall, a bright accessory, or a multi-hued painting.
Choose a comfortable sofa that you can sink into, and add a few chairs for extra seating. When planning the furniture layout, keep the size of the room and the spatial flow you’re looking to create in mind. Moving furniture away from the walls creates a more open and airy layout. Pay attention to the sofa's depth and cushion support to ensure maximum comfort for those long movie nights!
Lighting is key—mix and layer soft table lamps, pendant lights, and floor lamps to create a warm, inviting atmosphere. A false ceiling with hidden cove lighting creates a lovely glow of light. A glitzy chandelier will take centre stage and add a luxe element to your space.
Personal touches matter most! Curate and display photos, artwork, or books that tell your story. Keep your living room well organised with smart storage solutions like shelves or stylish baskets. A sleek entertainment unit can be a centrepiece that ties the whole look together.
Curtains, floor rugs and upholstery add the final touches that bring your living room to life. Choose fabrics that match your colour scheme and décor style. Floor-length curtains are beautifully elegant, and you can add sheers for daytime privacy. Pick between Roman blinds, roller blinds and regular pleated curtains. Experiment with patterns everywhere, but keep the overall look cohesive. You might try coordinating the wallpaper and furnishings for a lovely put-together look.

Your bedroom is perhaps the one space in your home where you can truly relax. You can be yourself, unwind and let your hair down. This room should feel like a warm hug at the end of your day; a space that wraps you in comfort and totally refreshes you. How can you make this special room cosy and inviting?
Start with the right colour palette. Cool colours like greens and blues will restore your energy, while warm colours like yellows and reds might drain it. You can paint an accent wall with a bolder hue while keeping the rest of the room neutral or light.
Your choice of mattress and bedding is what affects your sleep quality, so choose with care! Think about what comfort means to you personally. Is it sinking into a cloud-like mattress topped with layers of pillows and the softest sheets you can find? Or it might be a firmer sleeping surface with just one perfect pillow and a weighted blanket that you need!
Lighting is all important if you’re looking to create a soft and dreamy ambience. Harsh overhead lights do little to create a relaxing mood! Instead, try bedside lamps with warm-toned bulbs, a reading light that focuses just where you need it, or the gentle glow of fairy string lights for those evenings when you want to wind down slowly.
Your bedroom should also have the personal touch for those sweet slumbers! Framed family pictures remind you of loved ones, while artwork that speaks to your heart anchors the space and makes it yours. How about custom screen-printed bed linen that matches the curtains, or wallpaper that ties the look together?
Don’t forget the floors, it’s always nice to step on a plush soft rug first thing in the morning! A chunky knit blanket that drapes down to the floor at the foot of the bed is also a lovely touch.
Plants bring life to any bedroom, and improve the quality of the indoor air, giving you a refreshing night’s sleep. Choose varieties that thrive in your specific light conditions—perhaps a peace lily in a bright corner or snake plants for rooms with less natural light.
Looking for help with your best bedroom designs? Talk to a HomeLane residential interior designer near you!
Creating a kids' bedroom is a fun-filled, exciting project that you and your little one can work on together! It’s not about replicating an idea you see in a magazine, but about working around your child’s special interests. What are their hobbies? Which colours do they love, and which ones do they not like?
Start by listening. Watch how your child plays, learns, and relaxes. Does she love building elaborate worlds with blocks? Maybe he's a bookworm who wants a cosy reading nook. If your child loves music, add space for a piano or keyboard. If they love sports, then think of a small basketball ring or a climbing wall!
Behind all the fun, there's a parent's practical mind at work making sure the child is safe! Choose furniture that can adapt as they grow—beds with extra storage, desks that can be adjusted and wardrobes with shelves that can be moved up or down as your child grows taller.
The study desk should be more than just a place to do homework! Choose a desk that's the right size for your child, with enough space for books, papers, and a few favourite toys. Make it colourful and blend it into the chosen theme.
If your child is small, make sure that all corners are rounded off and every item is sturdy and anchored well to the walls. Use toxin-free paints that don't leach harmful chemicals, and insist on easy-clean surfaces. Lay down a soft rug for rough-and-tumble playtime.
Colour is a powerful element in a kid’s room interior design. You might start with a neutral base that can grow with them, but add splashes of their favourite colours. A bright throw pillow, a vibrant rug, or a piece of artwork can transform the entire feel of the room. A rainbow decal on the wall is a lovely way to add all the colours under the sun!
Lighting can work its magic on your child’s room, too. Work with the theme you have chosen. If you have a space-theme, get them a moon-shaped ceiling lamp. If your room is all about princesses and castles, have lights fitted inside the turret windows. Teenagers love strings of twinkling fairy lights. And don’t forget the bright, clear task lighting that’s needed at homework time.

The ideal wardrobe interior design for your home interior depends on your space, storage needs, and personal style. It should be both practical and a reflection of your taste—after all, you use it every single day!
How much space do you have in your bedroom? If it’s on the smaller side, sliding door wardrobes are a great space-saving option, giving you plenty of storage without needing extra room for doors to swing open. Mirrored panels can make the room feel bigger and brighter, while sleek, handleless designs add a modern touch.
Have all the space you need, and then some more? A walk-in wardrobe may be just right for you! Create dedicated spaces for you and your partner, add a lovely vanity and mirror, and glass-front cabinets for valuables. Plan separate sections for shoes, handbags, and accessories so everything has its place. Keep it clutter-free with smart organisers—pull-out trays for jewellery, hidden compartments for valuables, and tie-and-belt racks for neat organisation.
For most bedrooms, a classic hinged-door wardrobe offers full visibility when opened, making it easier to access everything at once. You can customise the interiors with drawers, hanging space, and shelves to keep things beautifully organised. Add a loft till the ceiling for suitcases and seasonal bedding.
The shutter style should match the theme you have chosen for your bedroom. Love a clean, minimalist look? Go for matte-finish wardrobes in neutral tones like white, beige, or grey. Prefer something bold? Deep wood finishes, glass panels, or even a pop of colour can add personality to your space. If sustainability is your thing, reclaimed wood or shutters with wickerwork can add value to your bedroom.
At HomeLane, we’d love to make your dining room interior design the talk of the town. Tell us your dreams, and we’ll make them happen!
Designing a dining area that people love is easy when you add heart to the mix! Think about what makes meal times special in your life—that's your starting point. The food is important, of course, but it’s also all about the place where it’s served.
Your dining table is where all the magic happens. If you're short on space, a round table lets everyone see each other well; or you can try one with leaves that extend when friends come over. In bigger rooms, a beautiful wooden table in fine teak or rosewood can become a family hand-me-down heirloom where stories are shared for years to come.
Next is the chairs. After all, comfortable seating means longer conversations and no one rushing away after dessert! Pick what feels good when you sit down—whether that's cushioned seats or modern chairs that make cleaning up after little ones easier. Lumbar support isn’t as important here, as no one will be sitting for hours on end.
The right light makes all the difference to the vibe! Task lighting isn’t important, but you should certainly be able to see what you’re eating. A lovely light hanging above the table creates a warm glow that dials up the good times. During the day, let sunshine stream in! Meals always taste better in natural light.
If space allows, a small cabinet nearby to keep all those special occasion dishes or table linens is a value-add. It's also the perfect spot for that coffee maker, or to display the pretty handmade bowl your little one made in art class!
The finishing touches are what make your dining area feel like yours. A vase of flowers from your garden, tall candles for evening meals, or placemats in your favourite colour—these small things tell your family and guests that they are special. Pick artwork for the wall that speaks to happy times.
The most important thing is creating a peaceful space that connects you deeply to your spiritual practice. HomeLane can help you design the perfect pooja room interior design; one that blends functionality with spiritual harmony!
Your pooja room is a sacred space that ushers in spirituality and personal style. In many homes, the prayer room takes centre stage as one of the most important spaces in the home. Traditional families often start and end their day with pooja rituals, and for them this is a space that can never be compromised on. They might skimp and save money in other rooms in the house but never in the pooja!
For small homes, a compact wall-mounted mandir with sliding doors or a built-in niche that doesn't occupy floor space is a good idea. Fold-away designs or corner units can also be perfect for tight areas.
For larger homes, a dedicated room or a spacious alcove allows for more elaborate designs with traditional wooden mandirs, marble floors, and multiple levels for deity placement.
Use soft, warm lighting like diyas or LED strips to create a serene atmosphere. Plan spacious and easy-to-access storage for pooja essentials, and choose materials that don’t stain with oil spills, and are easy to clean. The counter material should be impervious, well able to withstand haldi and kumkum stains too.
Vastu concerns are very important when it comes to the placement of the pooja room. As per the dictates of Vastu, the best location is in the northeast of the house, with the deity facing either the east or the west. Never place the pooja below the staircase, as it leads to loss of mental peace. The pooja should also not share a wall with a bathroom or toilet. Colours used should be light and serene, and there should be good lighting and ventilation.
Most homes today are compact, and as apartment spaces continue to shrink, space-saving interior designs have become all the more important. These design approaches work well:
Multifunctional furniture is essential, as it makes the best use of every inch of space. Sofa beds provide seating by day and sleeping space by night. Coffee tables with lifting tops can become dining or work surfaces, while sectional sofas with storage inside hold blankets or books.
Many people forget to look up when planning small spaces—don’t make that mistake! Tall bookcases and shelving make use of wall space all the way to the ceiling. Wall-mounted desks fold away when not needed. Spaces above doorways can hold shelves for books or decorative items.
Open-plan homes are best, as they expand the depth in the room. If possible, without damaging the structure, think of knocking off a few walls. Always check with an architect or structural engineer before you consider doing this. If you need some privacy, think of adding bookcases that can divide a room while providing storage from both sides. Glass partitions separate spaces visually while letting light flow through.
Make sure to maximise the storage in your home so that clutter is tucked away. Clutter is your enemy in a small space, as it makes it look even more cramped! Think of adding custom-built storage to use every inch, including odd corners and awkward spaces. Under-stair drawers, window seats with storage underneath, and lofts that go up to the ceiling are all valuable ideas.
Sometimes creating the feeling of space is as important as actual square footage! Give you eye room to pause, by having blank white walls wherever possible. Minimal décor gives equal importance to empty space. Use the same flooring and colour palette through the house for a cohesive, free-flowing visual narrative. Light colours on walls and ceilings open up spaces, while good lighting does away with dark corners that shrink your room.
At HomeLane, our designers are experts at creating smart, space-efficient solutions tailored to your unique needs. If you have a home that’s smaller than you’d like, you know just where to come!
Your bathroom should feel like a spa—luxurious and indulgent, the perfect spot to unwind after a long day. It isn’t about showing off with luxe and expensive high-end finishes, but about carving out a space that’s uniquely yours. So how can you go about doing this?
Let’s start with a clean and well-defined bathroom layout. Plan a wet and a dry area that are neatly separated from each other, with a tile drop between them to keep water from flowing out. The wet area contains the shower or tub, which should be enclosed by a glass wall or a shower curtain. The dry area is all the rest! Make the layout easy to navigate, even if an elder or a child needs help with using the bathroom. Large tiles or elegant marble surfaces will make the room feel spacious.
Choose smart storage solutions that hide away your everyday items. Wall-mounted fixtures and sleek vanities with hidden compartments keep everything tidy and create a sense of lightness. Think of storage for towels, soaps and lotions, and shampoos. A laundry basket is a must-have, and a closed wardrobe for your night clothes is an added plus.
Next, plan the lighting. The right light fittings can transform a room from ordinary to magical. Try gentle LED strips under the vanity that create a soft glow, or a beautiful pendant light that adds a touch of sparkle. Lights all around the mirror can make it easy to put on your makeup. If you're lucky enough to have a window, let that natural sunlight stream across the room, bringing life and warmth to every corner!
Choose luxe fixtures to really pamper yourself, because you deserve it! Think of a rain shower that feels like a gentle summer rain, or an inviting bathtub that beckons you to sink in and let your worries melt away. Even a smart toilet can add a touch of modern comfort. A sauna, if space permits, is the height of indulgence.
Keep maintenance at the heart of all you do! An exhaust fan that runs the moment you step into the bathroom and shuts down 15 minutes after you leave will keep the space dry. Make room for cleaning supplies—you can tuck them away in a closed cabinet below the vanity.
Last, add the finishing touches! A wicker basket to corral bathroom supplies in pretty little bottles adds a lovely touch. Hang a piece of artwork that makes your heart smile. Plants are always good to have. And choose scented candles and bath salts for a lovely soothing touch to your picture-perfect bathroom interior design!

Especially if you’re on the highest floors of a towering skyscraper, your balcony is the only spot in your home where you can enjoy the outdoors. As such, it’s important to design it well, so that it can be a stylish retreat and not just a space to hang clothes! And it doesn’t matter whether it’s a pocket-sized space or a lovely terrace; with a few thoughtful touches it can soon become your favourite spot in your home.
Plants are obviously a must-have for your balcony interior design. Even if you have a brown thumb and are known to regularly kill houseplants, you can pick ones that will thrive with minimal care. Money plants, areca palms, and snake plants don’t need a lot of watering, and will last long even if you forget they exist.
Comfortable seating is important too. Pick chairs in fake rattan or wicker that can stand up well to both sunlight and rain. A cosy lounge chair, a cushioned bench, or a hammock from where you can watch the world go by can make the space inviting. Add a bookshelf for your reading nook. If your balcony is small, foldable chairs or a compact floor seating arrangement with soft cushions will work beautifully.
Watch out for rain. A narrow balcony can get wet easily, so adding a canopy or a glass roof is just good sense. If it gets very sunny, the shade can keep you cool. A light sheer curtain or bamboo blinds can also provide shade while letting in the breeze.
Lighting creates the perfect ambience for a magical evening. Drape the walls with strings of fairy lights, and add garden lights in the planter boxes. Lanterns and candles are also lovely to have.
Have any more ideas? We’re happy to help you incorporate them, so that your balcony becomes the most-used space in your home!
Designing a lovely 1 BHK home interior is all about smart space planning and thoughtful décor. Space is likely to be limited, so you must make every inch work harder. Here are some tips and tricks that our designers use to get your 1 BHK home interior design off to a good start!
With limited square footage, spatial planning is everything. How can you make a small home look spacious and work beautifully well? Start by mapping traffic flow patterns to ensure free movement between rooms. If it’s possible to knock walls off and create an open-plan space, do that.
A minimalist approach with simple, sleek furniture will reduce visual noise and create a sense of calm. Look for pieces with streamlined silhouettes; perhaps handle-less cabinetry, glass shutters that keep the vibe light, and floating shelves that extend visual sightlines.
Reduce the colours too; the more colourful your space is, the more crowded it will look. Whites, neutrals, and pastels are best. Choose a cohesive colour palette throughout your home, preferably light neutrals with little pops of accent colours.
Reflective surfaces are great for bouncing light around and filling your spaces with light. Use mirrors wisely, as they can easily create an illusion of extra depth. Lean long mirrors against walls to reflect beautiful views, or opt for mirrored shutters in the bedroom for a stunning look. A wall-to-wall mirror in a too-small bathroom makes the room appear twice as large.
When it comes to a small home, storage becomes all the more important. Tuck clutter away with neat and organised storage spaces. Think vertically with floor-to-ceiling shelving and cabinets that maximise your wall space. Look for furniture with built-in storage; like beds with drawers underneath and coffee tables with hidden compartments.
Make wise material choices to enhance the feeling of space. We’ve already spoken about mirrors which are definitely your best friend in a tiny apartment. Large floor tiles with seamless joints make the floor seem endless. Wallpaper with vertical lines creates the illusion of height, while horizontal lines will increase the perception of length. Use large-scale art and hang it higher so it draws the eye up. Floor-to-ceiling thin drapes will make your ceiling seem higher.
Loved these ideas, but not sure how to make them work? Come to HomeLane, we’re always happy to help, and we love a good challenge!
A 2 BHK is where you can really let your creativity shine. It’s neither too small nor too huge, so is the perfect space to blend style with comfort. This is how our designers do it!
Start with a cohesive interior design theme. What makes you smile—is it contemporary chic, farmhouse rustic, breezy Boho or vintage Indian? Look for furniture and accessories that line up well with this theme. Pick a few pieces to focus on, and then work the rest of the room around them.
What colours do you love? Feel free to do up an entire accent wall in a bold shade that takes centre stage. Prefer a softer look? Layer neutrals with pops of colour for a simple, yet sophisticated aesthetic. Experiment with metallic accents, and use colour pairs that work well together. If you didn’t know, grey is the perfect neutral, as it goes well with simply every other colour there is!
Smart furniture choices can make a world of difference, even in a home that’s not the tiniest. A space-saving expandable dining table, sleek furniture on spindle legs, or wall-mounted units that keep the floor free are all good ideas in your 2 BHK home. Wardrobes with sliding shutters occupy a smaller footprint, so are always a practical choice.
Lighting sets the right mood, and should never be an afterthought! Layer ambient, task and accent lighting to create a lovely ambience. Think warm pendant lights over the dining table, task lighting in the kitchen, and soft bedside lamps, or even twinkling fairy light strings, to create depth and character in every room.
Add your own quirky touches to make your home truly yours. Tell your story through a gallery wall full of memories, framed family pictures at your bedside, or travel souvenirs lined up in the hallway. Put up your hobbies on display…whether it's collecting masks, crocheting little flowers, or painting on plates!
Last but not least, fill your home with plants! Indoor plants add a lively, organic touch at minimal cost. Mix and match hanging planters, potted greens, and ferns in creative pots. A small balcony garden can do wonders to enhance the whole style quotient in your home.

Designing a 3 BHK home interior design is all about creating balance and harmony. You don’t need to worry about space, as there’s enough of it. The challenge here is to make it all come together well—adding style and creativity, while making each room feel comfortable and inviting.
Start by choosing colours that make you feel good—warm neutrals like soft beige or gentle grey provide the perfect backdrop against which to layer hues, patterns and textures. Try accents in earthy shades till terracotta or forest green, or go bold with tangerine and crimson. Prefer calm? Teal and aqua might be what you need.
Make your living room special with comfy seating and a spacious layout. You could push furniture away from the walls, and create several seating clusters if space permits. A large area carpet can absorb sound and anchor the space, while you can define smaller areas with rugs and ceiling grids.
Your dining area deserves attention too. Think of adding a statement lighting grid above the dining table to create a striking focal point. Mix and match chairs for an eclectic feel, or keep it timeless with everything matching. Have carefully curated collections of pottery and ceramics? Add a crockery unit for extra storage and display space.
As the heart of your home, your kitchen deserves special care! Choose a theme, whether it’s modern or traditional, and create a layout that works. The Golden Triangle thumb rule can be used to enhance work efficiency. Open shelves are a lovely idea, and a pegboard on the backsplash can be used to keep tools and accessories handy. Since space is not a constraint, think of a kitchen island, and perhaps a butler’s pantry.
In bedrooms, create a dreamy retreat with calming colours and spacious layouts. Love binge-watching Netflix in bed? A well-designed TV unit is important for your viewing pleasure. Walk-in wardrobes, or side-by-side his and her wardrobes are good to have in a bedroom where space is not a concern.
Through every space, add touches that reflect your personal style. It could be a tablecloth you love that sets the colour palette for your entire dining room. Maybe it’s a lovely brass lamp that you picked up on your travels, or a painting that no one else understands but you do! Your story is important, so make it heard.
If space permits, an indoor garden with a skylight above is a lovely addition to a larger home. Create a waterbody with flowing water and a rock garden. The gentle sound of trickling water can completely transform the atmosphere of your home, creating a soothing retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the outside world. Indoor plants create a magical wonderland, adding freshness and a connect with nature.
A well-balanced 3 BHK balances aesthetics with style and comfort. Fill your home with joy, and you’ll continue to love it for years to come! We’d love to add the HomeLane touch of magic to your home. Can we connect?
