Stylish, yet simple and mindful—this aesthetic sums up the essence of the interior design narrative for Shreyansh and Sonali’s lovely 3 BHK apartment in Provident Park Square, Bangalore. The young couple, both software engineers, were very clear about two things: the interior décor theme they wanted, and the budget they had set aside. And when they signed up with HomeLane, senior designer Sifan Shaikh delivered on both counts!
As Shreyansh tells us, “During my very first design session with HomeLane, I was able to get a clear idea of what my house will look like. I had set aside a budget of INR 8 to 9 lakhs for the interior, and decided which were the elements that I wanted to be designed by HomeLane, and which I could add on from other places.” They wanted the flexibility of customising their home in accordance with their chosen theme, and had allocated 50 to 60 percent of their entire budget to the work done by HomeLane.
Given this clarity, the team planned the décor down to the last letter! After a hefty discount, the entire estimate for all the fixed woodwork in the house came to just INR 5.7 lakhs, a price that fit comfortably into their pocket. Let’s take a look at how this stunning design unfolded!

A graphic black and white palette makes up the aesthetic of the minimalist living room, perfectly tailored for modern living. A square coffee table in wood takes centrestage, while the sectional sofa with tufted linen covers invites conversation. Bold yin-and-yang cushions tie the look together. The monochromatic theme is brought to life by the clever use of textures, adding tactile depth and visual interest to the entire space.
Clean lines and streamlined silhouettes inspire the design of the sleek TV cabinet, with thoughtfully curated accessories evocative of the pared-down design vocabulary. To one side, fluted wooden panelling enhances the visual definition of the unit. Subtle nuances in colour tones that tie the visuals together are used throughout the home.
The gypsum board false ceiling in the living room adds a warm touch, with hidden cove lighting casting a lovely glow and softening the ambience in the room.

In the master bedroom, a large wardrobe with sliding shutters takes up most of the space on one wall. The addition of a loft unit in white oak extends the functionality of the storage, allowing seasonal items to be neatly tucked out of sight. All the walls are painted in silken white, making the room appear spacious and uncluttered.
The Zen-inspired master bed incorporates a headboard with in-built storage, fitted with louvered shutters. An open shelf holds books, candles and other night-time essentials. Patterned fabrics, textured finishes and a touch of greenery imparts a cosy, lived-in vibe.
Each of the bedrooms retains its own identity, while blending in easily with the theme that runs through every space in the house. The guest bedroom continues the cohesive palette of Mould Acacia Brown and White Oak laminates against a neutral backdrop of pale cream. The simple hinged wardrobe offers plenty of space for storage, extending out into a compact dressing table with open shelves to one side. Slender long handles in stainless steel add a refined touch.
Simple and functional, the guest bed is done up with cool and refreshing linen bed covers, and lends itself to quiet, understated sophistication.
The third bedroom has been converted into a gaming room for the PlayStation enthusiasts in the family. Here, a stand-alone closet holds gaming essentials, while floating shelves above showcase miniatures of Marvel characters.

Practicality leads the design of the compact L-shaped modular kitchen, with a semi-open layout that creates a sense of openness and engagement. The carefully planned storage spaces allow for ergonomic efficiency, keeping things neatly organised and right where you need them.
Upper cabinets in white oak are designed with push-to-open shutters for a streamlined, seamless visual flow. The microwave, lifted off the counter to keep it free of clutter, is placed in an open shelf for easy access.
Maximising vertical space, hooks on a mounted rail along the backsplash hold cups and kitchen tools.
To one side of the cooking hob, essential spices are within grabbing reach, mounted on slender racks designed to hold the glass jars securely in place. While the upper cabinets are hinged, the lower run of cabinets incorporates a mix of drawers and hinged shutters. Carefully picked out accessories—drawer organisers, carousel units for blind corners, and a cabinet for the gas cylinder—accentuate the functionality of the kitchen.
Subtotal: INR 7,32,000

Summing up the budgeting outlay for the house, designer Sifan shares with us the specifics of the cost allocation.
