This Upscale Bangalore Apartment is Wrapped in Warmth and Cosy Comfort

By - December 27, 2024

Step into this lively 3BHK home in the heart of cosmopolitan Bangalore, and you’re instantly drawn into a cosy cocoon of warmth and comfort. Mindfully detailed spaces open out into each other in a seamless flow, offering inviting visuals that come together to tell a story of refined taste and style. Each meticulously styled corner is put together with care, and imbued with warmth and soul to reflect the vibrant personalities of the home owners.

Weaving lovely vignettes in a modern setting, the HomeLane design team has truly outdone itself in the décor of Abhinaya and Mayurika Chaudhury’s 3 BHK apartment! Let’s go behind the scenes to explore the design elements that make this home so special.

A delicious shade of peach sets the tone in the foyer, oozing warmth and welcoming visitors with open arms. A low, long bench seat is fitted with drawers for footwear below, while floating ledges on the wall hold a display of curated artefacts. Wooden strips are cladded on the wall behind to add a charming hygge touch. On the opposite wall, delicate floral wallpaper that is tinged with gold amps up the luxe vibe.

An earthy palette of ochre, peach and cream in the effortless chic living and dining spaces grounds the energy in the room, lending an air of deep relaxation. Furniture choices are made with care — each piece adds character and functionality, without detracting from the overarching simplicity of the design. Lighting details are carefully planned —hidden strip lights in the wall panels and false ceiling, wall sconces and cabinet lights together create visual harmony, creating the perfect ambience.

Set against a backdrop of golden amber, the entertainment unit is sleek and minimalist in design, and is done up in warm wood tones. A mix of open shelves and drawers below offers plenty of storage space for entertainment essentials, while the ledges above can be used to display books or showcase a collection of vintage DVDs for movie nights.

Adjacent to the dining space, the crockery unit, again in wood, is given a modern look with the addition of translucent glass shutters on sleek aluminium frames. Cabinets below and above the counter store crockery and serving utensils, while the counter itself can be used as a mini buffet space. The niche alongside is perfect for a sleek refrigerator.

The master bedroom draws upon the same colour palette, using warm peachy shades to evoke a sense of cosy comfort, without compromising on functionality or aesthetics. An unexpected touch of blue in the border all around the wardrobe defines and delineates the unit, making a stunning style statement.

On the adjacent wall, a compact home office is designed with sleek drawers, overhead cabinets and a full-length storage unit with glass shutters. Here, too, a touch of blue offers delightful contrast to the peach palette. The unit provides ample storage space for books, documents, and office supplies, while the glass shutters allow for easy access to frequently used items. The workspace is bathed in natural light from a large window, creating a bright atmosphere that inspires productivity.

The second bedroom features a stylish wardrobe in a refreshing palette of sky blue and white, accented by sleek high-gloss shutters that exude a modern aesthetic. This multifunctional unit is thoughtfully designed to include a dressing area on one side and a practical workspace on the other, with a convenient loft above providing extra storage space for seasonal items. Long rectangular handles in stainless steel add an elegant touch.

In the guest bedroom, the compact wooden wardrobe offers space to store belongings, while the open shelving unit on the opposite wall can be used to display much-loved books. A long mirror fitted on the wardrobe door allows for last minute make up adjustments.

The interplay between lime green and rich ivory creates a lively dialogue in the kitchen, the contrasting colours coming together nicely with the addition of the graphic tiled backsplash. To maximise the potential of vertical space, a second row of cabinets has been added in the upper run, taking the storage all the way till the ceiling. The utility space has been integrated into the kitchen area, rendering it more spacious and enhancing functionality. A small half wall separates the two zones, keeping unsightly clutter in the sink tucked away and neatly hidden from sight.

Open shelves and glass-enclosed cabinets in the upper run increase the sense of transparency, allowing lovely dishes and other collectibles to be put on display.
